Define the Topic

Our topic is the health system in Australia, we are trying to tell people the awful state it’s in and that the public of Australia is severely suffering.  Patients are being left to die because there are not enough doctors or nurses because people who become part of the health system are not getting paid as much as they would in some other jobs, so becoming a doctor is not as popular as it could be.  We hope that if we create this website that other people may start to think like us then maybe a member of government could see it.  We just want a brighter future for Australia.

Why we chose this topic

The reason that we chose this topic is because one of our group members’ dad works in the Hervey Bay health system and is only one of two radiologists in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

Another reason why we chose this topic was that one of our friends got hit by a golf club in the head and split his head open and had to go to the hospital to get his head fix up. When he got there he was told to wait despite the gaping wound on the side of his head. SIX hours later he was admitted to the doctor, but the doctor that was there wasn’t experienced enough to put the stitches in so they had to call in a more experienced doctor to fix up our friend’s head and because he had to wait so long he was left with a terrible scar.

One of our friends broke his finger in hockey and went to the hospital and saw this crippled old lady standing there  because the hospital was so jam packed that there were no seats left for her. After seeing this our friend decided that he would just go home rather than wait for hours to get his finger treated.

 This same friend that broke his finger in hockey was swinging on a palm leaf fell off and broke his arm and had to go to hospital. When he got to the hospital he was told to wait. SEVEN hours later he was admitted to the doctor and just got a simple cast.
