History

Horses

Horses were first domesticated approximately between 3000-4000 BC.  They were originally used for milk, hide and meat but then the people discovered that they could be used as transport and to carry or pull items. Later on, they were used in the farming industry -along with bullocks- for pulling the plows and winnowing, pulling carts of goods and for other farming related tasks and horses used for mustering.

Over the last 100 years, the horses work load and place in society has dramatically decreased. Now with the founding and discovering of new and improved technology, ways of transport and machinery, they are no longer used for as many uses. Horses rolls also decreased in the farming industries too. With cars and machinery costing less, easier to manage and a longer life span, horses were demoted.

In today’s society, horses are used for sport, farming, the police force and especially in mustering.
