Blue and Red Heelers

Blue and Red Heelers are also known as the Queensland Heelers or Australian Cattle Dogs. This breed is bred for working with cattle. This is because they usually bite the animals that they are working with, so they are not used for sheep mustering. Blue and Red Heelers aren’t the most popular breed for mustering but they are very loyal and are exceedingly tough. They are great at herding wild cattle into the mob and keeping them there.  The Heelers like to snap at the legs of the cattle if they don’t co-operate and any sensible cow will retreat to the mob if this occurs.  Heelers are a great pet and are fantastic guard dogs.
