I am writing this essay on how I have been personally affected by graffiti and vandalism.
Last year I was personally affected by the irresponsible vandalism which would take place down at the Netball Courts every Friday Night. We would arrive each Saturday morning at the Netball Courts for an eight thirty start, to play our game. Almost every Saturday with our fail all of our games were delayed. The courts would be covered in broken glass and lots of rubbish scattered all over the courts. As if the morning wasn’t an early enough start, it would then be delayed a further thirty minutes, because we had to clean up after the night before! The Netball Association had to make sure that the courts were cleaned, because it could be very dangerous, if someone fell over and was cut by glass.
This is one of the ways I have been personally affected by local vandalism.
Another situation is when my family and friends visit Hervey Bay. We are so excited to show off our beautiful Bay. However when we take them out and about to show of the town it is really disappointing, when we are greeted with is graffiti and vandalism what sort of impression are we giving to our visitors.
The Fraser Coast Tourism association is out there marketing our region to attract as many visitors as possible during the whale watching season.
We go too so much effort to get these visitors and they have such a wonderful time watching the whales.
However what is their lasting impression, as they leave Hervey Bay after seeing the horrible amount of the vandalism and graffiti around the town!
