
We chose the topic graffiti and vandalism
We chose this topic to raise awareness of how bad the graffiti and vandalism is in Hervey bay.
How can a young child or teen look at people doing graffiti and have a good image of what their future could hold and what kind of a role model would the perpetrators displaying.
Paige thinks that graffiti and vandalism are a bad influence on younger children in the community. Also that the people that are affected by it, for example the peoples' houses, fences, walls that get vandalised and graphitised on the owners most of the time have to pay for the repairs which can be very expensive. The owners also have to deal with these troubles outside of work, looking after their children and their social life.
Shan thinks that graffiti can sometimes be seen from the other side for example sometimes the graffiti makes the fences look much more bright ,colourful and fun but when it is rude and has swear words and racist comments it is not ok. It also can express their feelings and thoughts on issues but it is still a very big problem that needs to be stopped. On the other hand vandalism can never and will never be justified.
My thoughts on graffiti and vandalism are that neither of them can be justified. What are the visitors and tourists thinking when they visit Hervey Bay when there is so much graffiti and vandalism everywhere?
