Disadvantages of living on a farm:
There are lots of disadvantages when living on a farm; some of them are outlined below.
- It’s a long way to someone’s house
- Agriculture is an extremely risky business and it is quite easy to become bankrupt from no effect of your own
- If you sustain any kind of injury you may be in serious trouble
- The internet connection is very, very poor
- The power goes out a lot of the time
- It’s a lot of work to live on a farm and make a living
- You are generally a long way away from any kind of civilization
- You can easily sustain severe injury or die when working with machinery
- The mobile phone reception is extremely poor making it hard to contact people if you are out in a paddock
- There is a lot of dangerous wildlife such as snakes, foxes and feral dogs, these may severely injure or kill you.
- Sometimes schools and other educational facilities may be too far away or have a poor standard of education.
