For our S.O.S.E project we decided to do ' Development on the Urangan Esplanade'. We chose this because my parents own a shop in Urangan and it would be great to be able to see other people’s business’s perspectives. It is also an issue Ellie and I feel to be important because we are down there frequently with not much to do and it would be great to have more down there.
There is also number of great businesses, restaurants, bars and hotels which would do a lot better if there were more tourists drawn to that area of town. We suggest that that to bring the tourist down there we need something else. Like, for instance, a park that attracts little kids or a skate park for teens or weekly / fortnightly markets to attract the older age groups.
We are aiming this issue at the council or Hervey bay and the adults in Urangan’s homes and businesses. If we could get the councils attention to this we could change a lot of things. Hopefully this website will help people to realise that this is a great opportunity to take and will act on it.
