WHO IS INVLOVED?

There are a surprisingly large number of people involved in the whaling issues, some trying to stop it, and others wanting it to continue. The Japanese see the humpback and blue minke whales as delicacies, and so exploit them for their blubber, which they sell. The Australian government are supposedly trying to stop this but nothing drastic has been done. Greenpeace, an organisation that stands for protecting animals and the environment, seem to be the only ones involved in trying to stop this from happening. On several occasions Greenpeace members have tried to board Japanese whaling ships to protest, and in return have been blasted with hi pressure hoses. Even thought the Japanese are the main offenders to the decline in the whale population, Norwegians and commercial whalers have also contributed to the whale’s population decent.
