The negatives that unfold from the issue of whaling are overwhelming. Other than the fact that there would be a total loss in Australia’s whale tourism industry if whales did eventually did become extinct, whaling itself is inhumane and cruel. Harpoons are shot into the whale’s body, and then it is dragged up a platform onto the slaughter deck. The whale is then butchered and the blubber is collected. The problem of whaling also causes fights between different countries, this then causes in even bigger problems. Greenpeace members steer small boats near the whales in an attempt to stop the harpoon being fired. This puts people’s lives in danger, and is unnecessary. If people start losing their lives because they want to stop whaling, the problem will get a whole lot bigger.
