Air pollution is when we have something in our, that shouldn't be there.

The main contaminants in our air are gases such as carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons from vehicles. Sulfur Dioxide also pollutes our air.

Also Ozone, from Nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon compounds reacting whilst in the presence of the sun.

Another form of Air pollution is called acid rain.

Acid rain is the term used to describe when acids fall out of our atmosphere. A more precise term would be Acid deposition. Acid rain is not always in the complete liquid form when it rains. It comes wet and dry. Acid rain doesn't pollute the air that much as it comes from the air, but it does pollute the soil and water a lot. On this site there is no talk about soil pollution but there is talk on water. So on to Acid rain again, it is mainly caused by sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides as well. most of the acids in acid rain come from coal being burn't for power generation.
